Basic Canine Massage and Acupressure Techniques
Presented by Deborah Walker
Deborah will illustrate the location of major canine muscles and muscle groups.  She’ll discuss muscle physiology and conditions that may affect the dog should the muscles become strained due to stress, excess or inadequate activity, or poor circulation. She’ll discuss the difference between methods used on the various muscles. Deborah will share the many ways massage therapy can be useful for pet care professionals —plus she’ll outline specialized massage therapy services that may be offered to clients.  In this practical skills demonstration, Deborah will perform demonstrations of massage therapy techniques. She’ll show you how to use massage and acupressure to improve the pet’s health and wellbeing. Practical skills demonstrations include how to perform a: *Full Body Massage *Foot and Toe Massage *Facial Massage *Head and Neck Massage *Shoulders and Front Legs Massage *Hips and Rear legs Massage *Tail Massage. This program includes an interactive hands-on session that allows attendees to learn and experience the canine massage techniques and methods with coaching and supervision by Deborah.

Demo: Poodle Basic Pet Styling
Presented by Ann Martin
In this demonstration Ann will show you tips and tricks on the pet poodle trim. She will show what to look for when starting to groom on the poodle to get the proper proportion for a balanced trim.  In this demonstration you will see the frame of the poodle and learn how to create the ‘Poodle Look of Perfection’.

Demo: Pet Scottish Terrier
Presented by Jennifer Lee
The Scottish Terrier, often called the “Scottie,” is best recognized for its distinctive profile and hard, wiry, weather-resistant outer coat in a black, brindle or wheaten color. Its beard, eyebrows, legs, and lower body furnishings are traditionally shaggy. In this seminar Jennifer will demonstrate how to blend the body into the legs and the specific techniques to groom the distinctive Scottie head and ears.

Chris will be demonstrating different techniques you can use to clean up, fix up, and finish up this popular breed.  These useful tips on styling pet dogs will make grooming a Schnauzer a walk in the park.

Demo: English Springer Spaniel
Presented by Tammy Siert
In this class, Tammy will demonstrate a pet trim on an English Springer Spaniel.  This seminar will include bathing and blow drying procedures, correct breed pattern placement, product usage to make the coat easier to handle and style, and the different equipment you can use to achieve the finished groom.  You will also learn how to adjust the trim to suit the dog and the owner’s lifestyle.

Asian fusion grooming is a new trend in pet grooming worldwide. In this seminar, Jennifer will provide the history of this trend and reveal new tips for those who want to try it themselves at their salon. Jennifer will also discuss balance and symmetry as well as how to emphasize this unique trim with accessories.

It is always a difficult decision when you are faced with a wire haired terrier in your salon, do I strip? Can I strip this dog properly?  Just because it is a ‘pet’ doesn’t mean it should look like one! In this seminar Barb will show you proper stripping techniques and tools.   She will also cover how to achieve beautiful breed profile in half the time using ‘cheat stripping’ ideas which will make your clients and your income extremely happy. With the tools available to us today, terriers are no longer a daunting task.

In today’s market there are many cutting tools at our disposal. Straight shears, curved shears, thinning shears, clippers and razors are all used for various desired looks.  In this seminar Jonathan will share his experience and knowledge of cutting techniques to create layers, round faces, hiding structural flaws and blending as well as his techniques for using these tools to achieve beautiful finishes on a variety of coat types.
